Halloween Celebrigays: Garret Clayton

Out actor Garret Clayton is merging his craft with his celebration of Halloween this year by starring in an immersive production of "The Rocky Horror Show" as Dr. Frank N Furter in Rochester, New York.

"It's great, it's powerful, it's a huge queer icon," Clayton told local Rochester news outlet WHAM. "I think it's something that this show specifically gives anybody who's felt like an outsider or felt like maybe they don't belong, that there's a place for us."

Clayton is best-known for his role on Disney Channel's "Teen Beach Movie" and NBC's "Hairspray Live!"

The actor came out in 2018 when he revealed that he had been in a long-term relationship with boyfriend Blake Knight since 2011. In January 2019, Clayton announced the two had become engaged sometime during the previous year. In September 2021, the couple married at an outdoor, garden party themed wedding in Los Angeles, which was officiated by actress Alicia Silverstone.

Clayton worked with Silverstone on the 2016 true crime drama "King Cobra" in which he played adult film actor Sean Paul Lockhart (aka Brent Corrigan).
