A documentary about out British diver Tom Daley dropped just days ago, but the Olympic gold medalist already knows who he would want to play him in a feature – none other than fellow Brit Tom Holland.
Daley, 31, gave his thoughts on the casting choice on Variety's "Just for Variety" podcast in what amounted to a fantasy pick, given that no such feature film is in the works. Still, the choice of the 29-year-old "Spider-Man" actor is a suitable one. Noted Daley, "He's got the gymnastic-y vibe. I feel like we're quite similar in that."

As for who Daley's Oscar-winning screenwriter husband, Dustin Lance Black, might want to see cast in the role of himself in any such biopic, Daley offered another sizzling selection: "I think he would definitely want to cast Joel Kinnaman to play himself," the athlete suggested.
"If you didn't know, Tom has a total of five Olympic medals over his career, where he first competed at age 14 in Beijing, and last competed in 2024′s Paris Olympics," Just Jared thumbnailed. "He has one gold medal, one silver medal, and three bronze medals, among his many accolades."
Now retired from diving, Daley said in a recent interview that he's still trying to figure out who he is post-athletic career. He has launched his own brand of knitwear and is becoming something of a fixture on reality TV, not to mention the June 1 premiere of the documentary "Tom Daley: 1.6 Seconds."
The stunning athlete also admitted to ongoing body image issues – a topic he has discussed before – although he maintains a physique that most people would consider flawless.
"I know if I'm rational about it, I should be completely happy," Daley told The Times of London in a recent profile, "but seeing videos of what I looked like in the Olympics, I'm, like, 'Why can't I look like that again?'"
