The queens have officially been announced for season 9 of "RuPaul's Drag Race All Star," and the news did not disappoint with some casting surprises, twists and turns about the setup of the upcoming season.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, a total of 8 fan-favorite queens are competing for another shot at being crowned America's Next Drag Superstar, and the competition is extra fierce this time around.

Angeria Paris VanMicheals, Gottmik, Jorgeous, Nina West, Plastique Tiara, Roxxxy Andrews, Shannel, and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo will all be looking to wow judges for a spot in the Drag Race Hall of Fame. Yet instead of competing for a cash prize for themselves, the popular queens will be competing for a $200,000 donation to a charity of their choice.

As promotion around the upcoming season teases, the queens will be using their fabulousness "drag superpowers for good" throughout the season, but there is bound to be plenty of tense moments over which queen is more talented than another. It is "Drag Race" after all.

Mama Ru will be back to handle the lead the panel of judges, and more guest judges are expected to be announced closer to the show's May 17 premiere on the Paramount+ streaming service. Episodes will also be followed by the "Untucked" aftershow.
