New Lesbian Film 'Fear of Water' Released in UK

READ TIME: 2 MIN.

On August 8, director Kate Lane launches the UK pre-booking for her new LGBT coming of age film, "Fear of Water." The 100-minute film starts Lily Loveless and Chloe Partridge, and as girls whose friendship eventually becomes more.

In this portrait of self-discovery, a budding friendship develops between teenage girls Alexia (Lily Loveless, Skins) and Eleanor (Chloe Partridge) over one life-changing summer.

Coming from different socioeconomic backgrounds, Eleanor lives in a strict proper home with a planned future but a family living in silence. Alexia, on the other hand, cannot seem to transcend the search for her family's next meal.

Sharing lazy summer days, rushed first kisses, and round-trip departures from home life -- the girls test the precarious boundaries between class and love before truly realizing such boundaries exist. And when family tensions escalate, they stand up for one another before knowing what their brave acts of defiance really mean.

Conquering their fears, breaking out of their shells, and finding happiness even from unexpected sources makes this the summer that changed everything.

Planet London calls it, "Truly beautiful, a stunning lesbian film," while Curve Magazine calls it, "the new must-see movie."

The DVD and Digital Street Date for "Fear of Water" is September 12.
