NEW YORK, NY - According to writer Henry Miller, "One's destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things." Assouline announced its third title with Cond Nast Traveler, celebrating the publication's 25th anniversary. Through the eyes of these insightful photographers and behind-the-scenes notes by the magazine's editors, readers can journey through these distinctive images with fresh points of view. When you fall into one of these pictures, you may be floating in a dream, but you have also taken the first step toward purchasing a ticket to a dream destination.

The latest in Assouline's Cond Nast Traveler series, with a foreword by Klara Glowczewska and an introduction written by Luc Sante, this retrospective of the world's premier travel magazine showcases a selection of its most stunning photographs from the past quarter century by renowned photographers such as Helmut Newton, David LaChapelle, and Brigitte Lacombe. From striking works of architecture to lions and elephants, big skies, and compelling portraiture, this anniversary volume is a celebration of the most outstanding travel photography.

Featuring 25 exceptional fold-out images and accompanied by essays by notable authors such as Paul Theroux, Luc Sante, and Simon Winchester, plus maps and annotations by the magazine's editors and the photographers themselves, Cond Nast Traveler Photographs: 25th Anniversary Collection is sure to spark readers' wanderlust.

Since its launch in 1987, Cond Nast Traveler has been committed to the philosophy of "Truth in Travel" in its journalism. The magazine has been nominated for 25 National Magazine Awards, and has won six awards in various categories, including Special Interest, Design, Photography, and General Excellence.

Glowczewska was appointed editor in chief of Cond Nast Traveler in January 2005. An editor at the magazine since its 1987 inception, she had been the executive editor, a position she held from 1992. Several of the articles Glowczewska has edited over the years were nominated for National Magazine Awards, including two for best Essays & Criticism-the first time a travel magazine had ever been nominated in that category.

Sante is the author of several novels including Low Life, The Factory of Facts, and Kill All Your Darlings. Sante received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1992-93, a Literature Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 1997, and an Infinity Award for writing from the International Center of Photography in 2010. He is a frequent contributor to The New York Review of Books, and teaches writing and the history of photography at Bard College.
