The headquarters of Focus on the Family has been declared a hotspot for COVID-19, Metro Weekly reports.

The Colorado-based fundamentalist Christian group is known primarily for espousing scientifically unsubstantiated anti-LGBTQ beliefs, such as:

...transgender people are "disconnected from Jesus," compared being LGBTQ to "sex abuse," and argued that parents should tell their children that the LGBTQ community comprises people "whose sexuality has been damaged or whose healthy development has been derailed.

Given their status as a COVID-19 hotspot, ironically, Focus on the Family has also asserted in the past that homosexuality results in "external consequences like death, disease." The organization once established Love Won Out, a conversion therapy "ministry" that was sold to Exodus International, which shut down permanently in 2013. As Metro Weekly reports, former Exodus International CEO Alan Chambers, apologized to the LGBTQ community: "This is not something that's going to work. This is dangerous. It creates shame. It is not something that is going to produce an orientation change in you."
