A retired teacher and self-described "Trump man" is facing 20 days in jail after a decade of pooping on the lawn of his neighbors, a gay couple.

However, The Smoking Gun reports, the offender, 70-year-old Jerry Detrick, didn't target the couple because they're gay. Rather, Detrick told police, it was because the two men are Biden-supporting Democrats.

The fecal harassment took place in Greenville, Ohio, a community located about 40 miles from Dayton, the New York Daily News reported.

Matthew Guyette, 59, and his husband had taken note of the deposits being left in the hedges lining their lawn for 10 years, accompanied by "3 or 4 crumpled up restaurant napkins he used to clean himself," Guyette said in a Facebook post.

Because the serial evacuator would defecate in the hedges around the lawn, rather than on the lawn itself, the more readily-visible napkins were "my clue that I had had a 'visitor,'" Guyette wrote.

But the identity of the "mad shitter" — as Guyette dubbed the culprit — was a mystery until this past May 30 when Guyette saw a man squatting near shrubs in his yard.

An officer responding to Guyette's 911 call apprehended Detrick. The officer then questioned Detrick, who confessed to relieving himself on his neighbor's hedges and said his reason for doing so was because the men "are Democrats and support Joe Biden." (Detrick proclaimed himself a "Trump man.")

Detrick's actions resulted in a misdemeanor charge of littering. His punishment was "20 days in jail to be served at the court's discretion," according to The Smoking Gun.

"He was also placed on probation for a year, ordered to perform 30 hours of community service, and directed to pay fines and court costs totaling $232," adds the outlet, which notes that he was also ordered to write a letter of apology to Guyette and his husband.

In his letter of apology, Detrick reiterated that politics, rather than homophobia, was the motive behind his vile actions.

"I realize same-sex couples must be extremely leary [sic] of how they will be accepted in communities that they live in," Detrick said in the letter, according to Instinct. "Let me say that I didn't know you were gay. I did know you were a Democrat. I am a Republican," he added, concluding, "Doesn't make any difference, my actions were disgusting and cruel."
