Your favorite colorful, chocolate candies are about to get a little sweeter and a lot more self-righteous.

As reported by The Hill, Mars, Inc, the company behind M&Ms, is reportedly giving its famous M&M characters a personality overhaul as part of the company's "global commitment to creating a world where everyone feels they belong and society is inclusive."

The new M&Ms characters will have more "nuanced personalities," said Mars. If you remember from the M&Ms adverts from the early aughts, the red, yellow, orange and blue M&Ms all shared a range of traits — from dopey to dirt bag (looking at you, red M&M). Then there was the green M&M, the sexualized, female-identifying M&M with enviable white go-go boots.

As mascots for the candies, Mars is hoping the remade candy characters will increase a "sense of belonging for 10 million people around the world by 2025."

The green M&M now sports sneakers and will serve as a "hypewoman" for the other M&Ms instead of being hyper sexualized. And the brown M&M, another female-identifying character, has a new motto: "Not bossy. Just the boss."

According to Mars, the ultimate goal is a more "inclusive, welcoming, and unifying" brand, "while remaining rooted in our signature jester, wit and humor."
